Glossary of Terms

A Weighting

A standard weighting of the audible frequencies which approximates to the response of the human ear to noise.

Accoustic Calibrator

Provides a reference noise source to calibrate and check the performance of a Sound Level Meter.

C Weighting

A standard weighting of the audible frequencies used for the measurement of Peak Sound Pressure level.

Z Weighting

Flat frequency response with defined limits, used as well as C weighting
