ET-175 Software Installation Guide

The software for the ET-175 can be downloaded from the following URL:

Step 1 - Download the software

Click on the download link to download the .zip folder containing the software. If prompted, choose to Save the file, and save it to a location of your choice. By default this will save to your PC's Download Folder and call it "ET-175-software.zip".

Important Note: Some steps may not appear or be slightly different if you have previously installed the software or have installed software for similar products.

Step 2 - Extract the Software

Navigate to your download folder (or your chosen saving location). Right click on ET-175-software.zip and choose extract all. Choose a location to extract the folders (the default location will extract to them to current folder) and click "Extract".

You will now have a folder called ET-175-software (alongside the.zip folder of the same name). This will contain a folder called "TempAndRH20150629".

Step 3 - Installing the software

  1. Open the folder TempAndRH20150629 until you see a list of folders and files.
  2. Double click the file called "setup". There will be 2 files called setup, you require the one of type "Application". You may be prompted by Windows asking for your permission to allow the program to run. Select yes to continue
  3. An installation window will appear. Select the location for the 2 pieces of software. The defaults are fine for most users.
  4. A summary of the installation will appear. Prompting to you start the installation. Click "Next" to continue
  5. Progress bars will appear and once completed a window will appear saying installation complete.

Step 4 - Installing the Driver

  1. You will now be prompted to install Silicon Laboratories CP210X Drivers. This allows the ET-175 to communicate with the software. Select "Next" to continue
  2. You will not be presented with the licensing agreement. Select "I accept the terms of the license agreement" and click "Next" to continue".
  3. Choose a location to install the driver. The default location fine for most users. Select "Next" to continue.
  4. The Driver is now ready to install - select "Install" to continue.
  5. Ensure the box labelled "Launch the CP210x VCP Driver Installer" in select and click "Finish"
  6. Silicon Laboratories CP210x USB to UART bridge Driver Installer window will appear. Click "Install" to continue.
  7. Once complete, select OK to end installation
  8. Restart you PC once prompted

Step 5 - Running the Software

  1. "TempAndRH" software icon should now be on your desktop
  2. Right click and select "Run as Administrator" to run - administrator rights are required for the program to work correctly
