Ideal for those wet environments, ATP stocks a variety of waterproof thermometers and waterproof bags, each offers a varying level of water protection. It is important to understand the level of protection offered by each thermometer as each model will only protect against a pre-determined level of water ingress. Additional exposure to water exceeding the outlined specifications will result in product failure. A waterproof thermometer should always come equipped with an IP rating (Internal Protection Marking). Any model that is not equipped with an IP rating from the rest of our thermometer range may be seem suitable for use but cannot be guaranteed in a wet environment.
A thermometer will display its IP rating by the letters IP followed by 2 numbers (IPXX). The higher the IP numbers are, the better the level of protection. The first number references the dust protection level. The second number between 1 and 9 will state to the level of water exposure the waterproof thermometer can handle. We have listed the most common IP ratings on ATP products below.
Besides our pre-built waterproof thermometers we also offer a collection of waterproof bags. The bags design accommodates use in wet or harsh working environments. Attached to the front of the bags are sockets compatible with our range of K-type thermometers. This allows thermometers with no IP rating to find use in normally impossible conditions. Due to the socket attachments, the bags do not come guaranteed with an IP rating.
